Best time for island hopping
June and September are ideal: warm water, calmer bays and more relaxed mooring situations than in high summer. In July and August, the best-known anchorages are occupied early — those traveling then should arrive in the morning or switch to the more remote islands, which show their charm precisely at that time.
Mooring, anchoring & buoy fields
Many small islands don’t have large harbors — anchoring is done in bays or at buoy fields, partly for a fee. In national parks like Brijuni, special rules and permits apply. An experienced crew knows the sheltered spots depending on the wind and ensures that the night at anchor becomes as peaceful as the island promises.
