Position & Approach

Approach from the south through the Trogir channel — the narrow strait between Trogir Old Town (north) and Čiovo island (south). The channel is 200 m wide at the narrowest, well-marked, with depths 8-12 m. Speed limit is 5 knots in the channel. Reduce to 3 knots within 100 m of the marina entrance.

The marina entrance is on the Čiovo side, between the bridge to the mainland and the SCT Marina Trogir (a separate, newer facility 200 m further south). The marina is well-protected from all wind directions because of the Čiovo headland and the narrow channel position. Even in 40-knot Bura the basin stays calm. The Maestral has minimal effect inside the marina.

The walk is over the same bridge that 16th-century merchants used.

The Old Town has the standard tourist attractions (Cathedral of St Lawrence with Master Radovan’s portal, the Loggia, the Kamerlengo Fortress at the western tip) plus several excellent konobas. The marina’s own restaurant is fine but unmemorable — walk into the Old Town for dinner.

For provisioning, the modern Trogir town on the Čiovo side has Konzum and Tommy supermarkets within 10 min walk of the marina. The Friday morning market by the Old Town bridge is the best fresh produce option.
